The training provided by the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency serves 39 local communities in improving effective and professional emergency services. The instruction offered will enable each community to attain proficiency in mitigating, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from all types of emergencies, including those attributable to hazardous materials.
All courses are free of charge and taught by qualified instructors under contract with the RIEMA. In addition, independent-study course opportunities are offered for individuals who seek professional training but are unable to attend courses in residence or in the field, in an organized classroom environment.

The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency is implementing the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program or HSEEP to enhance and assess terrorism preparedness, prevention, response, and recovery capabilities at the Federal, State, and local levels.
The Rhode Island HSEEP is a threat and performance based exercise program employing a cycle and range of exercise activities. This site is designed to be utilized by Federal, State, local, tribal, and private organizations that are dedicated to enhancing preparedness efforts through exercising.
