“We experienced the STEP program being a stress reliever to these students and their families.One of our students, Katie, who has special needs including ADD and a form of autism, usually has severe anxiety issues when unexpected events occur. However, after going through the [STEP] program, and experiencing a recent storm causing power outages, she was able to calmly and correctly behave. She turned on her flashlight, gathered her emergency kit, and found Mom and Dad. All the students are better able to handle the worst now because of it [STEP].”
