Terrorism

Throughout history, there have been many threats to the security of nations. These threats have brought large-scale losses of life, the destruction of property, widespread illness and injury, the displacement of large numbers of people and divesting economic loss. In most cases, terrorism is a use of force intended to disrupt, influence or instigate a course of action to further a cause or social statement.

If You See Something, Say Something

If you see something suspicious taking place then report that behavior or activity to local law enforcement, or call 911. Report suspicious behavior and situations rather than beliefs, thoughts, ideas, expressions, and associations.

Be aware of your surroundings:

  • Move or leave if you feel uncomfortable or if something does not seem right.
  • Learn where emergency exits are located. Think about how to get out in the event of an emergency.
  • Take precaution when traveling:
    • Be aware of unusual behavior
    • Do not accept packages from strangers
    • Do not leave luggage unattended
