Rhode Island Business Emergency Operations Center (RIBEOC)

The Rhode Island Business Emergency Operations Center (RIBEOC) is a joint effort between the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency and the US Economic Development Agency (EDA) to form a partnership with the private sector.

The RIBEOC supports the coordination of activities and resources of businesses and organizations in Rhode Island in order to: improve response and self-sufficiency, reduce reliance on FEMA and other federal assistance in order to maximize business, industry and economic stabilization and returning the business environment to normal operations as quickly as possible.

The RIBEOC will work with businesses to improve their disaster preparedness; improve communication with business and industry before, during and after disaster events; rapidly develop sound economic-impact estimates to support decision making and requests for business assistance; coordinate response efforts to assist businesses in their efforts to return to normal operations as quickly as possible; and help coordinate post disaster economic recovery.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency Business Emergency Operations Center (RIEMA BEOC) is to establish a partnership between RIEMA and the local businesses throughout Rhode Island by: providing training, situational awareness, business continuity planning, coordinating emergency resources, and forming and maintaining an emergency communications system in order to achieve private-sector awareness and information preparedness.
